Today I started my first day of work placement, after introducing myself to David Campbell, I was given an introduction to the warehouse. There are many different sections of the warehouse, which include lighting, visual and audio. David introduced me to the ten guys who work there casual and full time, Jason one of their main set up and production guys showed me around all the cables, drapes,etc that they use when hiring out equipment. Today included packing a lot of cables, folding drapes and bumping out equipment from the Sydney Football Stadium and Cricket Ground.

Today, was a fairly slow day as not much of their hired out equipment wasn't coming in or out, as during the july and june months the business is a bit slow, however there were still lots of small little tasks to be done throughout the warehouse. Mostly I folded drapes and organised all the cables again, I had a half day due to Tafe, but learn't quite a lot about lighting.

Today, was a busy day as many jobs had to set up and scanned into the system, I helped big Dave get all equipment need for the Louis Vittion, Blackmores and ANZ events. Most orders needed a PA system with speakers, drapes and projectors and screens. Heaps of drapes were scanned back into the system and needed to be checked, checking the drapes involved looking for any hole or marks. Today was a fun day, as it was busy with jobs being prepared but also relaxing.

Today, started off with going out to the maritime museum to set up lights, drapes and a projector for an event, maritime was hosting. It was a timely set up as problems with getting into the docks occurred, was in the docks, unloading the truck was a painful process as it was full with props for sydney props company. After setting up for the maritime museum event, we were off to Sydney Props Company, were we delivered props that what were delivered to AV events by accident. After all the deliveries were completed, David allowed me to play around with lights and mixing desks. Today, involved a lot of deliveries however it was a pretty good day.
